At Winter Chill Out, I casually asked Tony about Media Day and then shot him an email, but at the time, no information was yet available. Shortly afterwards, the news came out about First Rider Night and the three days of the Frontiertown Hoedown.

First Rider Night will be held on Friday night, April 27. Tickets were $250 to be on the first train or $75 to attend in general. If its anything like the one for Valravn (from what I've heard - I wasn't there), after the first little while, it starts to clear out and the end of the night is pretty much a marathon period for those that stay. I chose to buy the $250 ticket. I know for most people, that wouldn't be worth it and I am far from swimming in wealth, but in my mind, I felt like if there was ever a time I wanted to do this at my home park and be able to say that I was part of the first public rides on a record-breaking coaster, now was the time. So I bought the bullet (or the $250 ticket). As an added bonus, Aaron from PursuitOfThrills and Jantzen (jantzen73 on IG) will also be on the first train (or second depending on how they set it up). Now unfortunately, there was a website glitch that caused all kinds of chaos. I was lucky enough to have been sitting there all day refreshing the page and got my order in immediately before the crash. They even called me directly from Sandusky to make sure I wanted the $250 ticket and not the $75 one. This event runs from 6-10PM that evening and all proceeds support the LeBron James Foundation.

Also announced was the Frontiertown Hoedown. This event will take place between April 30-May 2 for Season and Platinum Passholders. Tickets are free, but must be procured through the website using the pass. At the event, each attendee will get a "fastpass" type of printout which will tell them exactly when they are to come ride SV. Maverick, Skyhawk and Mine Ride will be open as well. Also, there will be food sampling and other events happening throughout the day. The event runs from 4-10PM each night.

Finally, Tony recently announced a contest for those with active social media accounts. The contest involves the hashtag #ThisForkIsForSV - In it, you post a picture or video of a fork on your social media account and basically describe it. I went a bit deeper and wrote a backstory on the history of Silver Fork in the Old West. You can find it at: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bg_YAv-gMH9/?taken-by=bkphotopage

Fifteen winners will be chosen and be allowed to attend Media Day for SV which I'm sure will be held either the morning of April 27 or on April 26. Even if I don't win, that was pretty fun to write up. I thought about taking Aaron's advice and writing a story about Fork cheating on his wife with Spoon and producing Spork in a Maury-esque "you are the father!" type reveal. But I stuck with my guns. Hopefully, I win, but if I don't, I still have a first train ticket at the First Rider event.
